Winger struggles in Prairie Dirt Classic weekend at Fairbury Speedway
With the 34th-annuel Prairie Dirt Classic on the horizon, Ashton Winger checked into Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway early for Wednesday's $20,000-to-win One for the Road.
With 65 FloRacing Night in America entries on hand, Winger missed the mark in qualifying and was unable to make up any spots in his heat race. Being buried in his B-Main, Ashton was a scratch.
Looking for more speed heading into the weekend, Winger qualified 15th-quickest in his stacked qualifying group which placed him in the third showdown feature where he would finish just outside the Top-5 in sixth.
Starting third in a last chance showdown on Saturday, Ashton took the lead before mechanical issues prevented him from finishing the race.
