Returning on Wednesday after Mother Nature axed Tuesday’s program, Ashton clocked in sixth-fastest in his group before streaking to an eight-lap heat race win. Gaining momentum late in the race, Winger raced to a second-place finish in the 40-lapper, following Brandon Sheppard across the line. Tyler Erb, Kyle Bronson, and Ricky Thornton Jr. rounded out the Top-5.
For another $7,000-to-win A-Main on Thursday, Ashton started the night off with a heat race victory, which positioned him fourth on the starting grid for the feature. Losing two spots in the 40-lap affair, Winger recorded a ninth-place outing.
On Friday, Winger clocked in second-fastest in his group before picking up heat win over Daulton Wilson. With $12,000 on the line in the feature, Ashton clawed forward one spot to register a third-place finish. He trailed Brandon Sheppard and Brandon Overton to the checkers with Devin Moran and Tim McCreadie rounding out the Top-5.
To wrap up the week-long Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Ashton’s second-place finish in his heat placed him eighth on the starting grid for the $15,000-to-win finale. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish, Winger gained two positions to finish sixth.
