Winger Unharmed in Flip at Volusia Speedway Park

Saturday night found Ashton Winger in action at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) piloting the No. 9 Crate Late Model entry for the final round of the Sunshine Nationals. In a field of 43 Newsome Crate Racin’ USA Winter Series entries, Ashton fell two spots short of a transfer position in his heat with a 7th place finish. Streaking to a 10-lap consolation victory, Winger earned the 22nd-starting position for the main event. With $10,000 on the line, Ashton Winger was involved in a wreck on lap 14 that sent him flipping. He was able to walk away under his own power.
