Top 10 Finish in Tarheel Invitational at Tri-County Racetrack

Monday afternoon saw Ashton Winger return with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model iRacing Invitational Series at the (virtual) Eldora (OH) Speedway. Drawing 48 cars, Winger followed up the eighth fastest lap overall in time trials with a second place finish in his heat behind Trent Ivey. Starting the $1,000-to-win A-Main in eighth, Ashton broke into the Top-5 early and was in contention for the top spot the entire race until heavy contact with three-to-go dropped him back to a 20th place outing. On Thursday night at Tri-County (NC) Racetrack with several precautionary measures in place to make the Schaeffer Oil Tarheel Invitational possible, Ashton laid down the 13th fastest time in qualifying before placing third in his heat race. Earning the 11th-starting position for the $4,000-to-win A-Main, Winger improved one spot in the 40-lap affair to place 10th.
