February 11, 2021 - Consistent motor issues ends Winger's Florida Speedweeks
1Ashton Winger continued on his Florida Speedweeks slate on Monday afternoon at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Fla.) for the 50th annual DIRTcar Nationals. In a field of 51 cars, Winger fell short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place second or better in his B-Main to make the opening night feature, Ashton came one spot short with a third-place outing.

1After replacing his power plant overnight, Winger failed to transfer out of his heat race and B-Main on Wednesday, forcing him to rely on a provisional into the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Improving two spots in the 40-lap affair, Ashton logged a 27th-place outing.

He experienced more motor issues during his qualifying session on Thursday that brought a disappointing end to his Speedweeks.
